J.D. Hayes started writing during the Covid lockdowns in 2020 as a means to pass the time.

The idea for his first published Urban Fantasy Series came to him while visiting Lisbon during Spring Break in 2022. The Dark Fate series centres around the lives of a secret society of mages as they try to deal with supernatural monsters and the reemergence of a sinister cabal.

He lives in Cork with his family, including Ollie the ginger cat. His hobbies include hiking, golf and travel.
